Bulacan LGUs warn of flooding due to Bustos Dam gate damage

Some local governments in Bulacan on Thursday warned residents of possible flooding after rubber gate 3 of Bustos Dam was damaged.

“Bilang precautionary and preventive measures po ay pinapayuhan po ang lahat na maging alisto, handa, at mag-ingat sa maaaring pagbaha dulot ng biglaang pagtaas ng lebel ng tubig sa ating kailugan,” Obando LGU said in a social media post.

(As precautionary and preventive measures, everyone is advised to be alert, prepared, and cautious of possible flooding caused by the sudden rise in water levels in our river.)

The Obando LGU added that it monitors the possible effects of the rubber gate damage on the town. 

The Bustos Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (MDRRMO) also warned residents to avoid going near the river for safety.

It also urged residents to heed the evacuation procedures of barangay officials in times of emergency.
