Albay Lakas candidates lead Pulse Asia survey in April
A Pulse Asia survey showed that Lakas candidates have continued to lead in key electoral races across Albay.
The survey, which was conducted from April 1 to 10, 2025, employed face-to-face interviews of 2,800 registered voters in the May 12 national and local elections.
At the provincial level, the margin of error is ±1.8%, while at the district level, it is ±3%.
The survey showed that Lakas candidate Representative Joey Salceda, a former governor of Albay and the current representative of the province’s second district, led with 47% voter support in the gubernatorial race.
Salceda held a 17-point lead over PDP-Laban candidate Noel Rosal (30% voter support).
Lakas candidate Diday Co also led in the race for vice governor with 36% voter support. She was followed by PDP–Laban's Jun Alegre with 20%, independent candidate Te Arandia with 12%, and Workers and Peasants Party's Gil Goyena with 2%.
The survey also showed that Lakas candidates led in the three congressional races.
In the first district, Representative Jil Bongalon received 38% voter support, slightly ahead of Tabaco City Mayor Krisel Lagman of LP, who had 36%.
In the second district, former congressman Kito Co scored 46%, while his rival Caloy Loria of PDP–Laban had 25%.
In the third district, Polangui Mayor Adrian Salceda led with 55% voter support, while incumbent representative Fernando Cabredo of NUP got 29%.
In Legazpi City, Lakas candidate Kap Hisham Ismail continued to lead the mayoral race with 45% voter support. He was followed by Carmen Rosal of PDP–Laban with 33%, while independent candidates Doc Atutubo and Dan Sabdao received 11% and 0.2%, respectively. — VBL, GMA Integrated News
