Floods in parts of Mindanao due to LPA swamp homes, farms
Two weather systems affecting the country have caused rains and flooding in some areas in Mindanao.
According to a "24 Oras" report on Thursday, flooding in Bagumbayan, Sultan Kudarat caused a small hut to collapse.
Floodwater also submerged homes and farms in the area.
In T’Boli, South Cotabato, overflowing water from a nearby creek triggered raging floods that forced rescuers to use ropes to assist stranded residents.
Motorists in Magsaysay, Davao del Sur also waited for two hours to cross flooded roads.
According to PAGASA, flooding was caused by a low pressure areas (LPA) and thunderstorms in the country on Wednesday.
While the LPAs have dissolved, rains are still expected in some areas on Friday due to the effects of the easterlies. —Jiselle Anne Casucian/LDF, GMA Integrated News
