Disabled mother and son vote in Abra with hopes for government attention for PWDs

A mother and son with disabilities lined up early to cast their votes in Abra on election day on Moday.

As seen on GMA Regional TV’s post on Instagram, Lorna and Jefferson were among the 35,227 registered voters in Abra’s capital, Bangued.

Jefferson, who has difficulty speaking, carried his mother Lorna, who has polio, on their way to their precinct.

“Siya ang paa ko, ako naman iyong tagapagsalita niya,” Lorna said.

Despite their disabilities, Lorna and Jefferson never miss a chance to vote, expressing hope that the needs of people with disabilities like themselves will also be given attention.
