Lucy Torres, Richard Gomez poised for fresh mandate in Leyte posts

Actress turned politician Lucy Torres is gaining ground over political rival Violy Codilla in the race for the mayoralty seat of Ormoc City in Leyte.

With 94,023 votes, Torres gained over 40,000 votes from her opponent Violy Codilla with 53,895 votes.

Toto Locsin also leads the race for vice mayor with 87,457 votes.

Locsin holds a 30,000 gap with opponent Roiland Villaseco with 56,682 votes.

Meanwhile, Gomez’s husband and fellow actor-turned-politician Richard Gomez topped the polls for Leyte 4th District representative 91,866 votes. Ching Veloso follows after with 55,997 votes.

As of 11:24 p.m., Comelec has processed 151,196 votes out of 161,281 registered voters.  — BAP, GMA Integrated News
