Vilma Santos-Recto proclaimed Batangas governor
Vilma Santos-Recto is set to return to the Batangas Provincial Capitol.
Santos-Recto was proclaimed the winner of the gubernatorial race on Tuesday after receiving more than 640,000 votes.
She defeated three other candidates for the position: Mike Rivera (LP), Jay Ilagan (Promdi), and Walter Ozaeta (independent).
According to a report by GMA Integrated News' Darlene Cay, Santos-Recto skipped the proclamation and opted to rest, citing information from her husband, Finance Secretary Ralph Recto.

Also a former city mayor and congresswoman, Santos-Recto served as governor from 2007 to 2016.
In the vice gubernatorial race, Dodo Mandanas won against Santos-Recto's son, Luis Manzano, and Ryanh Dolor.
Santos-Recto's youngest son, Ryan Christian Recto, secured the congressional seat in the sixth district.
