PDEA: Over P686 million worth of 'shabu' seized in Pampanga
Suspected shabu worth P686.8 million was seized in a buy-bust operation in Angeles City, Pampanga on Wednesday, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said.
In a statement, the PDEA said the suspects were arrested during the operation that was conducted at about 11:35 a.m. They were identified as 31-year-old Chinese "Wang" and 24-year-old Filipino "Shania."
Authorities confiscated 96 tea bags and five self-sealing transparent plastic bags containing suspected shabu weighing around 101 kilograms, a vehicle, a mobile phone, and driver's licenses.
The suspects will face complaints over the sale and possession of dangerous drugs under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, according to the PDEA.
PDEA Director General Undersecretary Isagani Nerez said the agency is prioritizing the seizure of high-volume drugs and the arrest of high-value drug personalities.
According to Nerez, Wang and Shania are one of the top suppliers of illegal drugs in the country.
"We will continue to crack down on these people, in response to the marching order of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to pursue organized groups that are involved in big-time drug trafficking activities, including their sources," he said. — VDV, GMA Integrated News
