4 dead in road mishaps in Aklan, Antique
Two drivers and two passengers were killed in separate road crashes in Aklan and Antique.
In Kim Salinas’ Monday report on “Saksi,” three people died after a truck crashed into a tricycle in the town of New Washington, Aklan.
According to police, the two vehicles were traversing opposite lanes when the truck driver allegedly fell asleep and hit the oncoming tricycle.
The tricycle driver and his two passengers died, while four other passengers were brought to the hospital for medical treatment.
The truck driver is under police custody.
He is facing charges of reckless imprudence resulting in multiple homicides, damage to property, and physical injuries.
Meanwhile, a man died after the tourist van he was driving struck a bus in Antique past 6 a.m.
The van was headed to Pandan while the bus was en route to Kalibo, Aklan.
According to police, the van was moving fast and encroached on the opposite lane while traversing a curved road.
Due to the impact, the van driver sustained a fatal head injury.
Meanwhile, the bus driver and his nine passengers sustained injuries.
