75-year-old man hurt after son repeatedly hits him with chair in Cebu

A 75-year-old man in Argao, Cebu was injured after he was hit several times with a monobloc chair by his son.

According to the report of GMA Regional TV’s Lou Anne Mae Rondinda in "Saksi" on Thursday, the suspect said he was sleeping when he was awakened by his father’s shout.

The suspect said he got fed up with his father’s reprimands about his involvement in illegal drugs. He claimed that he is no longer under the influence of substance abuse.

“I’m not sorry for what happened because I don’t like how he’s acting,” the son said in Cebuano.

The victim is currently in the hospital, while the detained suspect is facing a charge of serious physical injury. —Vince Angelo Ferreras/RF, GMA Integrated News
