Pet dog dies allegedly from poisoning by neighbor in Cavite

A family, together with an animal welfare advicacy group, filed charges against their neighbor for allegedly poisoning two dogs, which caused the death of one pet.

In Jamie Santos’ report on “Saksi” Thursday, the Colada family saw their pet dog Buboy shaking and weak on April 13.

Their other dog, Prince, was shaking and vomiting while its mouth was foaming.

Before the said incidents, the Colada family said their neighbor rushed to their house, complaining that Prince barked at him.

“Nakita ng pamangkin ko na before siya tahulan is binugaw niya si Prince kaya siya tinahulan pero hindi siya sinugod o kahit na anong ginawa si Prince. Tumahol lang. Inassure ko po siya na hindi nangangagat yan,” Erlie Joy Colada said.

(My nephew said before Prince barked at our neighbor, he shooed away our dog. But Prince did not bite him or anything. He just barked. I assured him our dog does not bite.)

In CCTV footage provided to GMA Integrated News, a person was seen walking in front of the house and seemingly had thrown something where Buboy was.

Buboy passed away after eating the item that was thrown his way, while Prince was saved after vomiting blue food believed to be poisoned.

After the incident, Colada said they noticed Prince was traumatized since he was shaking when going outside or when being carried.

On May 20, the Colada family filed charges with the Philippine Welfare Society against the suspect.

GMA Integrated News went to the suspect’s house, but the doors were closed.

“Hindi kami titigil hanggat hindi namin nabibigyan ng hustisya na dapat para sa kanya kasi pamilya ka namin,” Colada said. The dog, who protects the family, serves as a remembrance of their father.
