Show cause order issued vs rider in alleged rape attempt

A show cause order was issued to a motorcycle rider accused of attempted rape by his 19-year-old passenger in the town of Oton in Iloilo.

The driver identified only as alias “Natnat” was accused by his passenger, alias “Abiee,” of attempted rape in Barangay Pulo Maestra Vita, Oton on the evening of May 18, 2025.

The uncle of alias “Natnat” did not grant GMA Regional TV One Western Visayas an interview. However, he confirmed that he received the show cause order on behalf of his nephew.

Personnel of the Land Transportation Office (LTO) served the order morning on May 23, 2025.

“Ang kanyang criminal liability, separate thing from the administrative aspect. Kami administrative aspect lang. So pag sinabing administrative aspect, it only covers to the extent ng kanyang issuance ng license,” said Atty. Gaudioso Geduspan, LTO 6 regional director.

The suspect is given five days to answer the show cause order.

The suspect and his wife last came home to their house in Barangay Botong, Oton on April 27, 2025, the uncle said.

The uncle added that the suspect already lives in a boarding house in Iloilo City.

Meanwhile, alias “Abiee” went to the Oton Municipal Police Station evening on May 22, 2025 to executive her affidavit on the incident, and presented documents to support the complaint.

“Gusto ko lang na mahuli siya. Sana sumuko na lang siya at harapin na lang niya (ang reklamo),” Abiee said.

Charges for attempted rape will be filed against the suspect.

“Na-i-submit na niya ang result ng psychological evaluation na isinagawa sa kanya. Ang pinakamahalaga is ang sworn statement na nakuha sa kanya,” Captain Lunelyn Talamillo, deputy chief of Oton Municipal Police Station, said. — GMA Regional TV News
