Archbishop Villegas warns vs fake video of himself promoting supplement

Lingayen-Dagupan Archbishop Socrates Villegas has warned the public against an artificial intelligence (AI)-generated video of himself promoting a dietary supplement.

“I have recently become aware of AI-generated videos using my likeness to promote and sell medicine without my knowledge or consent,” Villegas said in a social media post.

He also said that the video was fake.

A screenshot of the AI-generated video showed Villegas was promoting a dietary supplement.

“I want to make it clear that I have no involvement with these products or promotions. This misuse of my image is unauthorized and misleading,” Villegas said. — Mariel Celine Serquiña/VBL, GMA Integrated News
