Construction worker hacked over drinking money change
A 23-year-old construction worker has been in the hospital for three weeks after he was hacked in parts of his body over a change during a drinking spree in Taytay, Rizal.
According to EJ Gomez's report on "24 Oras," the victim and his live-in partner were on their way home on May 9 when they were asked to join a drinking session by the former's classmate in elementary school.
The victim even gave the group P1,000 for drinks and snacks.
When those who bought alcohol and food returned, the victim asked for the change from the P1,000 he had given.
The suspects said he only gave P100. They got mad after the victim said they had scammed him.
The victim's live-in partner said one of the suspects took a bladed weapon and attacked the victim. The three others helped in the assault.
Barangay officials arrived at the scene to find the victim conscious but covered in blood.
However, the suspect and the weapon used were no longer at the scene when authorities arrived.
The victim has already undergone three surgeries on his hand, which was severely injured in the attack. His camp has filed complaints with the barangay and police against the suspects.
Authorities are continuing their investigation and efforts to locate those involved. –Sherylin Untalan/NB, GMA Integrated News
