Over 50 families evacuate due to flooding in Zamboanga City
More than 50 families were displaced after continuous heavy rains triggered flooding in Zamboanga City.
As of 11:40 a.m. on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at least 27 families were evacuated temporarily to the Cabatangan Barangay Hall, according to the Emergency Operations Center of the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO).
Power supply in the area has been disconnected temporarily.
The City Social Welfare and Development Office has provided relief assistance to the families affected.
Meanwhile, at least 25 families were also evacuated to the Ayala gymnasium as flooding affected their homes.
CDRRMO has been on blue alert status since Friday due to the inclement weather.
Authorities continue to monitor the situation in the 98 barangays in the city with response teams on standby for immediate deployment. —GMA Regional TV News
