Murder charges filed vs. suspects behind Johnny Dayang slay


Murder charges were filed against the gunman and two John Does who served as lookouts in the killing of former Kalibo, Aklan mayor and veteran journalist Johnny Dayang. 

According to Super Radyo Kalibo’s Darwin Tapaya on Tuesday, the Philippine National Police’s Special Investigation Task Group declared the case as cleared following the identification of the gunman. 

However, Dayang's family expressed its disappointed that the case was cleared even though the gunman has yet to be arrested. They also seek to meet the gunman and know his motive behind the crime, the report added. 

The 89-year old Dayang was gunned down inside his residence in Barangay Andagao on April 29 by an unidentified assailant.
