Classes in all levels and operations of the local government unit in Santa Cruz, Laguna were suspended on Wednesday due to an alleged bomb threat. 

This was announced by Santa Cruz, Laguna Mayor Edgar San Luis in a Facebook post. 

"Ngayong araw, kumakalat ang isang mensahe sa social media ukol sa umano’y bomb threat sa ating bayan. Bilang tugon at pag-iingat, suspendido po ang pasok sa lahat ng antas pampubliko at pribadong paaralan, gayundin ang operasyon ng ating Lokal na Pamahalaan ay pansamantalang ihihinto habang sinisiyasat ito ng ating mga awtoridad," San Luis said. 

(Today, a message is circulating on social media regarding an alleged bomb threat in our town. In response and as a precaution, attendance at all levels of public and private schools has been suspended, as well as the operations of our local government, which will be temporarily halted while our authorities investigate.)

"Hinihikayat po ang lahat na huwag agad maniwala sa mga hindi opisyal na impormasyon. Sa ganitong sitwasyon, ang maling balita ay maaaring magdulot ng takot, kaguluhan, at panganib," he added.

The Laguna Provincial Information Office said that an investigation is underway. 

"Sa kasalukuyan ay patuloy ang pag- iimbestiga sa kumalat na balitang ito at sinimulan na rin ang pagsisiyasat ng mga kinauukulan sa mga gusali at pasilidad ng mga nabanggit na lugar kabilang na ang munisipyo, kapitolyo at mga paaralan na karatig nito," said the Laguna PIO in a statement,
