Man arrested for killing singer in Batangas

Authorities arrested a man who allegedly shot dead a singer in Talisay, Batangas.

According to Ian Cruz’s exclusive “Saksi” report on Thursday, the victim was playing bingo when the suspect approached him and pretended to offer a gig where he would sing during a party.

However, at the next moment, the suspect shot the victim in the head.

Authorities, by backtracking of CCTV footage, identified and located the suspect in a compound.

They recovered a .45 caliber pistol allegedly used in the crime and a jacket and cap he wore during the incident.

Authorities also seized the motorcycle used by the suspect to flee the incident.

Based on the investigation, the suspect was hired to kill the victim.

He will be facing murder charges, but he denied the allegations.

Meanwhile, the victim’s family confirmed his identity. They then urged the suspect to reveal the mastermind.

The Talisay Police said the suspect recently posted bail last week for charges of illegal possession of firearms and violation of the election gun ban.

Authorities are still searching for the mastermind and another person who served as the lookout.
