Marcos wants Marawi General Hospital be opened by August
President Ferdinand ''Bongbong'' Marcos Jr. wants the Marawi General Hospital be opened to the public by August of this year.
Marcos said this as he visited and inspect the Marawi General Hospital as well as other facilities in the province.
''We are giving the contractors and all of government agencies deadline of August na mabuksan na 'yung ospital para makapagserbisyo na sa taumbayam,'' Marcos told reporters.

According to Marcos, the 100-bed hospital has sufficient power supply, however, it still needs a standby generator so that it can still continue operations despite power outage. Having a generator is also a requirement of the Department of Health, Marcos added.
When it comes to the water supply, concerned agencies are working with the Department of National Defense as the system is located inside the DND camp, Marcos said.
''I’m happy to see that we are at least making some progress after such a long time,'' Marcos said.
According to Marcos, the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao was involved in the reconstruction and rehabilitation of the city.
''Dati hindi pa sila na-involve. Ngayon, na-involve na ang BARMM para sa funding, para sa lahat ng kailangan ng – para i-accelerate na natin itong reconstruction and rehabilitation ng City of Marawi,'' Marcos said.

In December 2024, Marcos ordered the creation of the Office of the Presidential Adviser for Marawi Rehabilitation and Development (OPAMRD) with the aim to ensure the speedy rehabilitation of war-torn Marawi City and nearby localities.
Among the OPAMRD’s functions include advising the President on all matters regarding the rehabilitation, development, and restoration of peace in Marawi City; overseeing, monitoring, coordinating, and harmonizing all strategies, programs and projects; and coordinating with concerned LGUs in the implementation of programs, activities, and projects (PAPs) related to Marawi City rehabilitation and development.
