Magnitude 6.3 quake hits Davao Oriental

A magnitude 6.3 earthquake struck Baganga, Davao Oriental on Tuesday morning, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS).

PHIVOLCS said the tectonic earthquake hit the waters of Baganga at 9:58 a.m.

The quake's epicenter was traced to 08.29°N, 129.57°E - 341 km N 77° E of Baganga.

The earthquake had a depth of 34 km.

There is no expected damage and aftershocks, PHIVOLCS added.

PHIVOLCS initially reported the earthquake at magnitude 6.4 but downgraded it to magnitude 6.3 in an update. —Joahna Lei Casilao/KG, GMA Integrated News
