Flood damage to agri in Malaybalay, Bukidnon reaches P23M
The initial damage to agriculture from recent flooding in Malaybalay City, Bukidnon has reached around P23 million, the city government said.
Based on report from the Rapid Damage Assessment and Needs Analysis (RDANA) team, flooding has damaged rice and corn fields reaching 729 hectares.
These figures are still subject for further validation as ground inspections continue.
The RDANA report also showed that four houses were damaged and more than 1,000 families from seven barangays in Basakan District were affected.
Mayor Jay Warren Pabillaran stressed the importance of accurate and timely data to guide the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (CDRRMC) in delivering response measures. It will also serve as basis for the City Council for the immediate assistance to the affected families and farmers.
During the presentation of the RDANA report, the need to repair infrastructure such as damaged roads and other facilities was also tackled.
"Ang pakigtimbayayong ug pagpakigbahin sa tanang ahensya nagpakita sa panaghiusa ug determinasyon sa lokal nga kagamhanan sa pagtabang sa mga apektadong komunidad ug sa pagpangandam batok sa umaabot nga mga kalamidad," the city government said. — GMA Regional TV
