Student found dead with 38 stab wounds in Tagum City robbery

A 19-year-old student was found dead with up to 38 stab wounds inside her bedroom in Barangay La Filipina, Tagum City, Davao del Norte on Wednesday, July 9, 2025.

According to a report by GMA Super Radyo Davao, the Tagum City Police Station said the victim was found lifeless and covered with a blanket inside her bedroom.

The victim sustained 38 stab wounds in different parts of her body.

The suspects allegedly carted away several belongings of the victim, including a laptop computer, a cellphone, a tablet, and a watch.

Authorities recovered a grass cutter, a bolo, a dumbbell, and a handkerchief believed to have been used by the suspects in killing the victim.

Investigators are eyeing robbery as motive.

Davao del Norte Police Provincial Director, Col. Alexander Serrano Jr., assured that a thorough investigation will be launched to identify and arrest the perpetrators.

Police urged those who have knowledge about the incident to come forward and cooperate with the ongoing investigation.
