Laurel, Batangas LGU holds boodle fight to prove safety of fish from Taal Lake
The local government of Laurel, Batangas on Wednesday held a boodle fight to prove that the fish from Taal Lake are safe for consumption amid the ongoing search for the missing sabungeros.
According to Raffy Tima’s report on “24 Oras,” local officials of Laurel lunched on grilled bangus and tilapia that were caught from Taal Lake.
“Ito yung bangus na galing sa Lawa ng Taal, ire naman ang tilapia na talaga naman hong napakasarap at sariwang-sariwa,” said Mayor Lyndon Bruce in a video.
(This is the bangus from Taal Lake and this one is a tilapia, which you can notice how fresh and delicious they are.)
Bruce earlier lamented that they experienced low demand for fish from their municipality since the search for the bodies of the missing sabungeros in the lake began.
Hence, fishermen in the town have incurred big losses, the report said.
Authorities are now on their seventh day of search in the lake. Divers are now being aided by a remotely operated vehicle.
