Beauty queen abducted in Ormoc found dead in Tacloban
The body of the missing beauty queen in Ormoc City was found floating in the waters off Tacloban City, Leyte.
According to Lou-Anne Mae Rondina’s Thursday report on “24 Oras,” Police Regional Office (PRO) 8 said the victim’s body was found in an advanced state of decomposition on Monday, while the face was covered in duct tape.
Police confirmed the victim’s identity based on her tattoos and physical features.
The victim was the same woman who was reported abducted in Ormoc City on July 31.
CCTV footage showed the woman was abducted on July 31 when a group of men dragged her inside a black vehicle, which then headed in the direction of Kananga, Leyte.
According to a Reuters report, the victim was a single mother and former title holder of Miss Matag-ob.
“As of this time, hindi pa namin ma-pinpoint, maka-conclude ng possible motive sa insidente. Kami sir, we are doing our very best na makilala at matunton natin ang mga responsible sa insidente,” said Police Captain Flora Mae Molina, Ormoc City Police Station 2 commander.
