2 gun-for-hire suspects killed in shootout with Quezon cops

Two gun-for-hire suspects were killed during a shootout at a police checkpoint in Calauag, Quezon on Thursday afternoon.

According to Joseph Morong’s “Saksi” report, the shootout occurred around 3 p.m.  after the suspects traded gunfire with cops manning the checkpoint.

After the encounter, police found the bodies of the suspects near the scene.

One was inside an Asian utility vehicle while the other was discovered along the side of the highway.

No one from the police was hurt in the exchange.

The Quezon Provincial Police Office said the suspects were facing murder charges, but some were dismissed, while others were withdrawn. — Mariel Celine Serquiña/RF, GMA Integrated News
