14-year-old boy allegedly shoots self in accidental firing in Bukidnon

A 14-year-old boy was killed after he reportedly shot himself while grappling with a school employee after he was allegedly caught stealing from the principal’s office at an elementary school in Lantapan, Bukidnon.

According to the report on “24 Oras” by Cyril Chaves of GMA Regional TV, police investigators found the minor sprawled on the floor with the gun nearby on Monday.

“Itong minor, may bitbit pala na .38 revolver. So in the course of grappling ninlang dalawa, nakalabit nitong bata ang armas niya,” said Police Mayor Jayvee Babaan of the Bukidnon Provincial Police Office.

“Na-accidenrial itong bata. Natamaan sa katawan niya,” he added.

The boy’s family is considering filing charges against the school caretaker.

The school administration said the minor had stolen from the school before. –NB, GMA Integrated News
