Fire razes government offices in Mulanay, Quezon
A fire broke out early Saturday and razed some government offices in Mulanay, Quezon.
Mulanay Councilor Gelo Telada Amisola posted photos on Facebook of what remained of the building housing the public information office (PIO) on Saturday morning.
The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) told GMA News Online that the fire started at 1:20 a.m. and was later declared under control at 3:30 a.m.
The blaze was declared out at 3:46 a.m.
The witnesses said the fire was first spotted at the Commission on Elections (Comelec) office beside the PIO, according to Amisola.
Aside from the PIO and Comelec, the fire also affected the Tourism, Culture and the Arts Office, Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) office, Local Water System Office, Human Resource Management Office, the municipal councilor said.
No one was injured, the BFP confirmed.Amisola said the fire affected the files of Comelec, the archive of the PIO, heritage documents of the Tourism office, and record files of 4Ps.
"Magpapatawag pa lamang po ng meeting si Mayor Aris Aguirre para po sa pansamantalang tutuluyan ng mga nasabing opisina. Maliban po sa HR na bahagya lamang po na naapektuhan dahil may firewall, the rest are wala talaga pong naisalba," he added.
(Mayor Aris Aguirre will call for a meeting to discuss the temporary location of the affected offices. Except for the HR office which was only partially affected due to a firewall, the rest were razed and nothing was saved.)
