‘Shabu’ worth over P605M seized, 3 suspects nabbed in Zamboanga City
Authorities seized a total of 89 kilograms of suspected shabu worth P605,200,000 in an interdiction operation in Zamboanga City on Sunday, according to the Police Regional Office 9 (PRO 9) Monday.
In a statement, the PRO 9 said three suspects were also arrested in the operation.
The suspects are currently under the custody of Zamboanga City Police Station 11 pending the filing of appropriate charges, the PRO 9 said.
Meanwhile, the confiscated illegal drugs were turned over to Zamboanga City Forensic Unit 9 for examination, according to the regional police.
PRO 9 chief Police Brigadier General Eleazar Matta commended the efforts of the personnel in the successful operation.
“These accomplishments highlight the commitment of PRO 9 in eradicating illegal drugs in the Zamboanga Peninsula,” Matta said.
“We will continue to intensify our operations to ensure the safety and security of our communities,” he added. —AOL, GMA Integrated News
