Potholes in Bulacan impede traffic flow, cause road accidents
Motorists using a road section in Barangay Salacot in San Miguel, Bulacan endured several potholes that impede the flow of traffic and cause some accidents.
In Kapuso Action Man on "24 Oras," residents said they have been reporting the potholes and these have been a long-standing problem.
The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) 3rd District Engineering Office said the asphalt cannot endure the rain along with the passing of overloaded trucks.
However, the agency conducts routine activities to maintain the road.
“Humihingi kami ng pangunawa at paumanhin. Ito para lang maiwasan ang inconvienince na nararanasan ng mga motorists, pansamantala naming nilelevel using appropriate materials na kung ano pwede namin gamitin,” engineer Edgardo Pingol, DPWH 3rd Distric Engineering Office officer-in-charge.

Although the said road section is not included in DPWH’s 22 preventive maintenance projects in San Miguel, Bulacan, it is one of the areas set to undergo repairs this year.
A P20-million budget has been allocated to the DPWH 3rd Distric Engineering Offic for routine activities in 2025.
