DPWH CamSur says works ongoing in flood control project in Baao town
The Department of Public Works and Highways in Camarines Sur-5th District Engineering Office said works are ongoing on the flood control project in the province, which was reportedly abandoned after it was damaged by Typhoon Kristine last year.
On "24 Oras" Thursday, the public information office of the local DPWH said the riprap road spanning more than five kilometers in Barangay San Francisco, Baao town is being constructed without additional cost to the local government as it is still covered by the warranty period.
However, additional funds are needed for the project next year to strengthen the structure.
In an earlier report, barangay officials complained about what they called the sloppy work of the contractor that was assigned to the flood control project.
The barangay had also raised the matter to the municipal and provincial governments. —LDF, GMA Integrated News
