Magnitude 5.3 earthquake jolts Dinagat Island

A magnitude 5.3 earthquake was recorded off the coast of Dinagat Island early Tuesday morning by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS).

The quake that occurred at 2:52 a.m. southeast of Dinagat Island was tectonic in origin with a depth of 118 kilometers.

PHIVOLCS reported that no damage is expected but aftershocks may occur. — BAP/KG, GMA Integrated News
