Teen, boy drown in Pangasinan, Cebu
A teenager and a six-year-old boy died from drowning in separate incidents in Pangasinan and Cebu.
According to Alan Domingo’s Monday report on “Saksi,” the 16-year-old teenager drowned after he jumped from a waterfall in Argao, Cebu on Saturday.
His body was found stuck in a branch along a stream on Monday morning.
The Argao Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office said the teenager jumped from the Bugasok waterfall when his friends were swimming below.
It added that the teenager did not know how to swim and possibly hit a rock since his face was bruised.
A barangay official reminded the public to follow tour guides or designated authorities to know safety precautions.
Meanwhile, a six-year-old boy drowned while swimming and getting clams along a river in San Jacinto, Pangasinan on Saturday afternoon.
The boy was with his older brother and cousins when he went into a deeper area and was swept by the current.
His older brother attempted to save the boy, but to no avail.
The boy’s mother said his son was in the water for about three to four hours.
The police reminded parents to look after their children when swimming in rivers. —Mariel Celine Serquiña/LDF, GMA Integrated News
