4 Luzon dam gates remain open to release water

Four major dams in Luzon continue to open their floodgates Wednesday to release water, data from PAGASA showed.

Ipo Dam in Norzagaray, Bulacan opened one gate at 0.3 meters, releasing water at 59.60 cubic meters per second.

As of 8 a.m., Ipo's water level was at 100.68 meters, near its 101.10-meter spilling level.

Affected are the municipalities of Norzagaray, Angat, San Rafael, Bustos, Baliuag, Pulilan, Plaridel, Calumpit, Paombong, and Hagonoy in Bulacan.

Meanwhile, Ambuklao Dam in Bokod, Benguet opened three gates at 1.5 meters, releasing water at 249.04 cubic meters per second.

Its water level was at 750.15 meters, near its spilling level at 752 meters.

Four gates were open at Binga Dam in Itogon, Benguet at 2 meters, releasing water at 330.52 cubic meters per second.

Its water level was at 573.13 meters, near its spilling level at 575 meters.

Affected areas are Barangay Dalupirip and Tinongdan in Itogon, Benguet.

On the other hand, Magat Dam opened three gates at 5 meters, releasing water at 874.44 cubic meters per second. 

The water level was at 183.89 meters, near the spilling level of 190 meters.

Affected are the municipalities of Ramon, San Mateo, Aurora, Cabatuan, Luna, Reina Mercedes, Burgos, Naguillian, Gamu and Alfonso Lista.—AOL, GMA Integrated News
