Motorists use boats to cross after Calasiao detour road flooded

Floods in Calasiao, Pangasinan left several roads inundated on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, including a temporary detour in Barangay Talibaew that was being used while a bridge was under construction.

Motorists said the floods have made travel more difficult.

“Kahit matambakan lang ’yung daanan ng mga tricycle ganoon para diretso, kasi sobrang abala ’tong nangyari,” AJ Joquino, a motorist, said.

Authorities opened temporarily a section of the bridge under construction to allow vehicles to pass. However, the bridge approach was also flooded, forcing motorcycle riders to load their bikes onto boats just to get across.

The MDRRMO also reported that Mancup Highway, one of the town’s main roads, was not passable to light vehicles. Small vehicles were also unable to pass through Sitio Riverside in Barangay Dinalaoan due to rising water.

Authorities continue to monitor flood levels in the affected areas. —GMA Regional TV
