Fake cop arrested for alleged illegal drug sale in Laguna

A man posing as a police officer was arrested for alleged peddling of illegal drugs in Biñan, Laguna.

According to Emil Sumangil’s exclusive report in “24 Oras” on Monday, the police assets pointed the Philippine National Police- Highway Patrol Group (PNP-HPG) to the location of the suspect, which led to his arrest.

“Halos dalawang linggo itong tinrabaho ng inyong PNP-HPG…Siya po ay may baril dahil siya ay nagpapakilala rin na pulis,” said PNP-HPG spokesperson Police Lieutenant Nadame Malang.

(The PNP-HPG worked on this case for almost two weeks…He also owns a gun because he introduces himself as a cop.)

The suspect is also involved in purchasing stolen motorcycles with shabu instead of money.

“Ang mode of operation po ng atin pong suspect ay una ang pagbibili ng mga nakaw na motor, kapalit po ng bato or tinatawag natin na ‘bato for sale’ o shabu,” said Malang.

(The mode of operation of our suspect is, first, the selling of stolen motorcycles in exchange for 'stone' or what we call 'bato for sale,' or shabu.)

A gun with questionable documents was also seized from the suspect. The latter did not comment on the issue he’s facing, the report said. —Vince Angelo Ferreras/LDF, GMA Integrated News
