Magnitude 5 aftershock jolts Bogo City, Cebu

A magnitude 5 aftershock hit Bogo City, Cebu on Wednesday night, PHIVOLCS reported.

State seismologists said the earthquake of tectonic origin occurred at 10:46 p.m. and had a depth of 10 kilometers.

The epicenter was located 21 km northeast of Bogo, which was struck by a magnitude 6.9 earthquake on Tuesday that killed at least 69 people in northern Cebu. 

State seismologists said damage is expected.

The following intensities were felt:

Intensity III - Cebu City; Ormoc City and Carigara, Leyte; Kawayan, Biliran
Intensity II- Lapu-Lapu City; Talisay, San Francisco, Danao, and Argao, Cebu
