Doctor braves Cebu earthquake, delivers baby on the sidewalk
The powerful 6.9 magnitude earthquake that rocked Cebu on Tuesday night did not stop a doctor from performing her duty as she helped a mother deliver her baby amid the disaster.
According to Mark Salazar’s report in “24 Oras” on Thursday, the doctor delivered the baby right on the sidewalk after the mother and other patients were evacuated from a hospital.
Not only did she endure the terrifying tremor, but the doctor also continued her service in the middle of the rain. An umbrella shielded the mother, baby, and doctor from the rain amid the disaster.
Following the magnitude 6.9 earthquake that struck Bogo City on Tuesday, videos surfaced online showing the raw emotions of the residents who experienced the quake.
One viral video showed construction workers on the 28th floor of the building they were working on.
As the ground shook, the workers suddenly shouted their prayers and held on to the metal bars for dear life.
In another video, some people strolling through the night market in Cebu City screamed as the earthquake began. A loud sound suddenly went off, and the electricity briefly went out. Some of the survivors hugged each other out of panic.
Meanwhile, one video went viral online as boys in a computer shop quickly observed the “duck, cover, and hold” protocol as the earthquake shook the small establishment. Some of the boys were seen praying for their safety while crouched underneath the computer tables. — Vince Angelo Ferreras/GMA Integrated News
