Cebu earthquake survivors wrap themselves in plastic, sleep by roadsides
Many residents of towns hit hard by the Cebu earthquake survivors have ended up sleeping by the roadside amid the threat of aftershocks and unstable buildings.
In Ivan Mayrina's report on 24 Oras, many residents of Medellin could be seen camped by the roadside, after the 6.9 magnitude quake that struck the province on Tuesday evening.
As the rain fell, many also resorted to covering themselves in plastic to stay dry.
In San Remigio, a family took shelter in a pigsty, while in Bogo, the quake's epicenter, many were staying in the plaza.
According to Phivolcs, more than 2,000 aftershocks have been recorded, and more are expected in the following days.
The death toll has reached 73 as of Thursday evening, with hundreds more injured. — BM, GMA Integrated News
