WATCH: Taal Volcano's main crater emits voluminous steam

The main crater of the Taal Volcano on Friday emitted voluminous steam that generated a white plume that rose 2100 meters above the crater, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) reported Saturday.

According to a time-lapse footage from the Taal Volcano Observatory (TVO) thermal camera, the voluminous steaming occurred at 09:55 p.m. to 10:45 p.m., yesterday, October 10, 2025.

"Emission of voluminous steam has been normal for Taal Volcano since the 12 January 2020 eruption. Alert Level 1 prevails over Taal Volcano," PHIVOLCS said.

The Taal Volcano also erupted briefly last September 30, but Alert Level 1 remained in effect. —Jamil Santos/KG, GMA Integrated News
