Motorcycle swept away after rider tried to cross raging waters in Davao City

A rider lost his motorcycle to raging waters that he tried to cross in Barangay Tawan-Tawan in Davao City.

According to JP Soriano’s report in “24 Oras” on Friday, the rider tried to hold on to his vehicle despite being swept by the river. But people nearby convinced him to let go of the motorcycle for his safety.

The motorcycle was found in a rocky portion of the river the day after.

The water level in a river in Senator Ninoy Aquino, Sultan Kudarat also rose due to the rains. Residents also had a hard time crossing the river.

The state weather bureau, PAGASA, stated that localized thunderstorms caused the rains in parts of Mindanao.

Meanwhile, light to moderate rain was experienced in some parts of Isabela due to the easterlies, said PAGASA.

In Daet, Camarines Norte, heavy rainfall caused traffic in the area with zero visibility in some parts.

In preparation for Tropical Depression Ramil, the local government of Viga, Catanduanes is already on alert.

On the other hand, the Philippine Coast Guard suspended sea trips in Catanduanes and Camarines Norte. –Vince Angelo Ferreras/NB, GMA Integrated News
