Higher minimum wages in Cagayan region OK'd


The Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB) in Cagayan Valley has approved a P20 to P40 wage hike in the region, bringing the daily minimum wage to P500 in all sectors.

According to the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), the  National Wages and Productivity Commission (NWPC) affirmed the wage order on October 20, which is set to take effect on November 5, 2025.

The current minimum wage for workers in the non-agriculture in Cagayan Valley is at P480 while the same wage for employees in the agriculture sector stands at P460.

Meanwhile, domestic workers in Cagayan Valley will also receive a wage increase of P500, increasing the new monthly minimum wage rate to P6,500. —Sundy Locus/RF, GMA Integrated News
