Bodies of elderly couple found in embrace after Bukidnon landslide


Authorities have retrieved the remains of an elderly couple from the portion of the Bukidnon-Davao Road in Quezon, Bukidnon that collapsed last week due to a landslide.

According to a “24 Oras” report on Thursday, authorities found the bodies of Ely and Thelma Ubatay locked in an embrace after five days of continuous search and retrieval operations.

The couple was riding a tricab when a landslide caused a portion of the road to collapse on Oct. 18. The couple was swept down by the landslide.

Authorities searched for the couple for five days with the aid of three search and rescue dogs.
