Bontoc, Mountain Province road mishap kills 3

Three people were killed as their truck fell on Chico River after hitting two parked vehicles in Barangay Tocucan, Bontoc, Mountain Province, the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) said Monday.

“As of this writing, three bodies were retrieved on site and were declared dead on the spot by the attending Physician, Municipal Health Officer Dr. Diga Kay Gomez,” the MDRRMO said in a statement.

Based on the initial report, the MDRRMO said the truck with five construction company workers was on its way to a project site in Kuro-Kuro, Sadanga town when the vehicle hit an AUV and a mini dump truck. 

The incident was reported to the MDRRMO at 6 a.m. 

Search, rescue, and retrieval operations are ongoing along Chico River, according to the MDRRMO.

“We pray that the other victims will be found soon. Also, we pray for the eternal repose of the victims,” the MDRRMO. —Joviland Rita/AOL, GMA Integrated News
