Over 4,000 cops in Western Visayas to secure 'Tigkalalag 2025'
At least 4,284 personnel of the Philippine National Police (PNP) will be deployed in various public and private cemeteries in Western Visayas.
Motorist assistance hubs will be mounted at national highways, bus terminals, seaports, and airports. Red teams will be deployed and provincial PNP offices will be on alert to ensure order and safety in the observance of All Saints' and All Souls' Days on November 1 and 2, 2025, respectively.
“Meron rin tayong continuous, i-strengthen pa ang checkpoint operations, border control, and then ang ating law enforcement ipagpapatuloy,” said Major Lailyn Sencil, spokesperson of Police Regional Office (PRO) 6.
Cemetery-goers are reminded to secure their houses before leaving and to check their vehicles as well for road worthiness.
As of October 24, 2025, it was observed that individuals have already started to visit cemeteries for a cleanup.
At the Leganes Public Cemetery, for example, GMA Regional TV One Western Visayas chanced upon residents cleaning up and repainting tombs.
“Mas mainam na linisin nang maaga upang maging komportable ang pagbisita sa kanila,” Ronie Jasa, a resident, said. —GMA Regional TV
