3 dead, 2 missing after truck falls into Chico River in Bontoc, Mountain Province

Three persons died after an Elf truck fell onto the Chico River in Bontoc, Mountain Province on Monday morning. 

According to a report in “24 Oras”, the Bontoc MDRRMO said it was around 6 a.m. when an Elf truck crashed into two parked vehicles at the Bontoc-Tabuk Enrile Road before falling from a ravine from a height of 170 meters into the river. 

Responders found the bodies of three passengers who were dead on the spot. Search operations for two missing passengers are still ongoing. 

All five passengers of the truck were construction workers who were on their way to Kuro-Kuro in the town of Sadanga. —Vince Angelo Ferreras/RF, GMA Integrated News
