One of two missing victims from fallen Elf truck in Chico River
The body of one of the two missing passengers from the Elf truck that plunged straight into Chico River in Bontoc, Mountain Province was recovered on Tuesday morning.
The Bontoc MDRRMO said the body was identified by his colleagues in a construction firm after he was found by a responder. Only one of the five passengers of the fallen Elf truck is being searched for.
Three passengers were initially declared dead on the spot after the Elf truck crashed into two parked vehicles at the Bontoc-Tabuk Enrile Road before falling from a ravine from a height of 170 meters into the river.
All five passengers of the truck were construction workers who were on their way to Kuro-Kuro in the town of Sadanga.
According to the Bontoc MDRRMO, two of the bodies were immediately claimed by their families, while one was transported to La Trinidad, Benguet. —Vince Angelo Ferreras/ VAL, GMA Integrated News
