WATCH: Kanlaon Volcano emits ash anew
Kanlaon Volcano on Negros Island emitted ash on Sunday morning, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) said.
The ash emission lasted 12 minutes, from 7:30 a.m. to 7:42 a.m.
Grayish plumes were seen rising up to 300 meters before these drifted southwest.
PHIVOLCS posted time-lapse footage of the event at the summit crater, as caught by the Kanlaon Volcano Observatory-Canlaon City (KVO-CC) IP camera.
"Alert Level 2 prevails over Kanlaon Volcano," PHIVOLCS said.
In its bulletin issued on Sunday, PHIVOLCS said eight volcanic earthquakes occurred at Kanlaon Volcano on Saturday.

Some 2,313 tonnes of sulfur dioxide were emitted as well on Saturday.
Moderate plumes rising up to 300 meters were also monitored yesterday. These drifted in the northwest and general west direction.
PHIVOLCS said the volcano's edifice remains inflated.
It reiterated that entry into the 4-km radius Permanent Danger Zone (PDZ) and flying aircraft close to the volcano should be prohibited.
Kanlaon Volcano, which straddles the provinces of Negros Occidental and Negros Oriental, poses possible hazards such as sudden steam-driven or phreatic eruptions and precursory magmatic activity, PHIVOLCS said.
