The Philippine Coast Guard’s (PCG) disaster response teams are preparing to respond to areas that may be affected by Typhoon Tino, which is expected to make landfall over parts of Eastern Visayas on Monday night.
The PCG’s 73 response teams are composed of 525 members from Northern Samar, Western Samar, Eastern Samar, Biliran, Leyte, and Southern Leyte, according to Sam Nielsen’s Monday report on Super Radyo dzBB.

Disaster response equipment, such as floating at land mobility assets, high-speed response boats, aluminum boats, rescue trucks, service vehicles, and ambulances are also on standby.
PCG personnel were ordered to assist local government units and the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council in responding to emergency situations amid Tino’s impact.
On Sunday, PCG spokesperson Captain Noemie Cayabyab said vessels are not allowed to depart from ports under an active wind signal or if the route it will take passes through a similar area.
The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DWSD) in Region 7 has also readied relief goods for Cebu and Bohol as part of the preparations for Tino’s impact.
According to Norman Mendoza’s dzBB report, DSWD has prepositioned at least 81,000 food and non-food items for the two provinces.
