Over 1,400 families affected by Typhoon Tino in Butuan
Around 1,432 families or 5,348 individuals have moved to evacuation centers due to strong winds and heavy rains brought by Typhoon Tino in Butuan City on Monday, November 3, 2025.
This is based on the latest report from the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Department (CDRRMD), as of 5 a.m. on Tuesday.
At least 20 evacuation centers have been activated to serve as temporary shelters for evacuees.
Personnel of the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) also continue to distribute relief goods and other necessities to the evacuation sites.
Due to strong winds evening on Monday, several barangay experienced power interruptions. However, no interruptions on water supply and communication services were reported.
Meanwhile, sea trips at the ports of Lumbocan, Butuan City and Nasipit, Agusan del Norte remain suspended, while authorities continue to monitor weather conditions.
No casualties have been reported in the city due to the typhoon, as of this writing.
Authorities are also conducting assessments on the possible effects on infrastructure ang agriculture.
Work in government offices resumes at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, as weather conditions in the city return to normal.
Private companies and establishments are also advised to resume operations.
On the other hand, face-to-face classes in all public schools will resume on Wednesday, November 5. Private schools are also encouraged to resume classes while ensuring the safety of their students. — GMA Regional TV
