1,420 evacuated in Talisay, Camarines Norte amid Uwan
At least 1,420 individuals were evacuated in Talisay, Camarines Norte, as Super Typhoon Uwan battered Luzon on Sunday.
Speaking to Super Radyo dzBB, Camarines Norte Mayor Dondon Mancenido said the evacuees are equivalent to 443 families.
Based on PAGASA’s 11 a.m. cyclone bulletin, Signal No. 5 is hoisted in the northern portions of Camarines Norte, which includes Talisay town.
Mancenido said 16 people from Nueva Ecija going to Mindanao were also stranded and under the Talisay local government’s care.
He added that some trees were toppled by the fierce wind brought by the storm.
Meanwhile, strong winds and heavy rainfall were felt in Presentacion, Camarines Sur.
The coastline was also engulfed by the powerful powerful waves along Baybay Sisiran in Garchitorena, Camarines Sur. — RF, GMA Integrated News
