Trips at Batangas Port still halted due to Uwan

All sea trips remained suspended at Batangas Port on Thursday due to rough sea conditions and bad weather brought by Super Typhoon Uwan, according to port authorities.

In a statement, the Philippine Ports Authority said operations have been halted as strong waves continue to make sea travel unsafe.

Authorities said they are closely monitoring weather advisories and will resume voyages once conditions improve and it is deemed safe for vessels to sail.

Meanwhile, stranded passengers have been provided with food and basic assistance while waiting for the resumption of trips.

Despite the suspension, the passenger terminal remains spacious and orderly, with adequate seating for those who chose to stay at the port.

Facilities such as charging stations, water refilling stations, and clean comfort rooms are also available.

Special waiting areas have also been designated for pregnant women, senior citizens, travelers with children, and persons with disabilities.
